6th Annual Congress of VAO

The 6th Annual Congress of the Vietnam Association of Orthodontists was held in Hanoi from March 9th to 10th, 2024, under the theme "Innovation - Creation - Development." This two-day event was a milestone, featuring presentations by eight distinguished international speakers from Italy, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, as well as two esteemed Vietnamese speakers. These presentations covered a wide range of orthodontic topics, providing attendees with valuable insights and knowledge.

The hall of conference was always full of doctors during two days of conference.

The conference addressed cutting-edge and specialized content within modern orthodontics. Highlights included "Fact and Fallacy of Skeletal Anchorage in Orthodontics" by Prof. Hee Moon Kyung (South Korea), "Direct Printed Aligners: A New Era in Aligner Treatment" by Dr. Simon Graf (Switzerland), "Vertical Delusions: Biomechanically Controlling the Vertical Dimension to Attain Pleasing Facial Aesthetics" by Dr. Adith Venugopal (New Zealand), and "Nonsurgical Treatment of Challenging Borderline Cases" by Prof. Johnny Liaw (Taiwan). Each presentation explored advanced techniques and current developments, ensuring attendees received the most up-to-date knowledge in the field.

The conference attracted nearly 300 dentists from both domestic and regional locations. Esteemed domestic guests, such as Assoc Prof Pham Duong Chau, Vice President of the Vietnam Odonto Stomatology Association and Assoc Prof Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association, added to the event's intellectual atmosphere.

The conference also welcomed distinguished international guests, including Dr. Roberto Tan, President of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS), and Dr. Somchai, President of the Asian Pacific Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education (APFORE), along with representatives from orthodontic associations across Asia. In summary, the conference was a resounding success, providing a platform for the dissemination of valuable insights and fostering knowledge-sharing opportunities for all attendees.
