October 19, 2025

The VAO-WIOC 2025 Conference which was the joint conference between Vietnam Association of Orthodontists (VAO) and World Implant Orthodontic Association (WIOA), held in Ho Chi Minh City from July 25–27, 2025, marked a milestone event in orthodontics, drawing nearly 30 internationally renowned speakers and around 700 delegates from around the world.

A highlight of the conference was the strong presence of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS), which reinforced its leadership role in fostering regional collaboration and advancing orthodontic practice across the Asia-Pacific.

APOS President Dr. Kieran O’Neill chaired the Pre-Conference Program and served as a judge for the E-Poster Forum, while Executive Committee Member Dr. Takashi Ono chaired key scientific sessions on July 27. Their participation emphasized APOS’s commitment to professional development and scientific excellence.

In addition, APOS organized its Annual General Meeting on July 27 at Topaz Hall. The session focused on strategies to enhance clinical standards, strengthen international research collaboration, and coordinate preparations for the upcoming APOS conferences.

With its extensive regional network, APOS continues to serve as a vital link between professional advancement and clinical practice in its member countries. Its active involvement in VAO-WIOC 2025 not only enriched the scientific program but also contributed significantly to the sustainable development of orthodontics in the region.

The participation of APOS leadership and affiliate associations reaffirmed Vietnam’s central role within the Asia-Pacific orthodontic community and laid a strong foundation for long-term collaboration in the years to come.
