Forever in Our Hearts

March 13, 2023

It is with great sadness I share the news to the APOS family of the sudden loss of Emeritus Professor Kazuo Tanne on 4 March 2023.

He was a tremendous supporter of APOS, being President 2012-14. During his time as President, APOS was recognized as an academic society; the APOS bank account was established in Singapore, adding to the Society’s financial stability; and the  APOS  official journal “APOS Trends In Orthodontics’ was established. Professor Tanne was recognized for his achievements and invaluable contribution to APOS by being awarded APOS Honorary Fellow at the 13th APOC in Seoul, Korea, in October 2022.

He will be greatly missed by his colleagues at Hiroshima University Faculty of Dentistry, as well as further afield, but more so by his immediate family, to whom we share our deepest condolences.

Dr. Kieran O'Neill
APOS Secretary- General
