Thai Association of Orthodontists’ Scientific Conference

Written by Dr Jirawat Kiertiburanakul
Executive Committee Member, APOS

The latest annual Scientific Conference organised by the Thai Association of Orthodontists’ (ThaAO) was held on 29th and 30th of October 2019 at the JW Marriot Phuket Resort & Spa, Phuket, Thailand. The theme of the conference was “Broadening Your Horizons in Orthodontics”. Dr. Prashant Zaveri was invited as a keynote speaker and along with Dr. Ch’ng Chai Kiat and several prominent Thai lecturers, gave several interesting and engaging presentations. The conference drew a large crowd of three hundred participants, including dentists, orthodontists and trade exhibitors.

Apart from the scientific programs, other special activities were organized, such as the spectacular “White Beach Party” and the energetic “Morning Yoga on the Beach”. Having held the conference in such a beautiful island, the committee members wanted to ensure that the participants were able to take full advantage of the beautiful seaside resort.

As part of the follow-on of the conference, the committee members and ordinary members of the ThaAO visited the underprivileged children on the 31st of October and made donations at “Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation”. The Foundation was established in 2006, after the devastated tsunami disaster which struck several countries and caused major losses and fatalities in December 2004.

We thank all the committee members for their hard work in making the conference a huge success.
