Preparations are now in full swing for the 9th IOC to be held in Yokohama, Japan in 2020. The 9th IOC will be held jointly with the 12th Asian Pacific Orthodontic Conference (APOC) and the 79th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthodontic Society (JOS).
We look forward to welcoming many of our Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS) colleagues as we plan for an APOS session have arranged for a special registration category for APOS fellows. Social events are scheduled so that everyone can enjoy the culture and cuisine of Yokohama and Japan, including the Residents’ Forum on Day 2, October 5.
In this report, we would like to share some of the details and we hope as many of you will be able to attend the Congress.

World Village Day
World Village Day is a unique part of the IOC. This is where World Federal Orthodontists’ (WFO) affiliate organizations from around the world host different programs and have the opportunity to showcase their own country’s research achievements and clinical case studies. At the 9th IOC, 24 countries/regions will be participating in World Village Day.
October in Yokohama is one of the best seasons in Japan. We welcome all to enjoy good food, the arts and festivals at the beginning of autumn whilst gaining and sharing the latest scientific information in our field.

Call for Abstracts: Abstract submission will be launched around October, 2019. We welcome abstract submissions from colleagues and affiliated institutions in the Asia Pacific and all around the world. Once the submission site is ready, we will post a notice on the website, so please make sure to check the website frequently for the latest information.
Accommodations in Yokohama: Special rates have been secured at a range of hotels in the Yokohama area, to match various budgets. A dedicated website for 9th IOC hotel reservations will open in January, 2020.

Social Events:
The Local Organizing Committee has formulated plans for the social events that we believe will provide a fun environment for all of the participants.
